What We Do
R PrayingHands supports individuals and families impacted by gun violence during the most difficult stages of recovery—when emotional trauma, financial stress, and system barriers collide.
Through our Survivor Stabilization & Healing Program, we provide:
Limited financial assistance to address urgent needs
Trauma-informed support and advocacy
Care navigation and referrals to trusted services
Our approach is survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and rooted in accountability.
R PrayingHands is led by community-connected leadership informed by lived experience and supported by a growing Board of Directors with expertise in community advocacy, finance, and service delivery. As an early-stage organization, R PrayingHands is intentionally building strong operational systems, partnerships, and accountability measures to ensure responsible growth and sustainability.
The organization collaborates with community-based partners and referral sources to strengthen coordination and avoid duplication of services.
